Yoga Retreat Weekend at Springbrook
September 11-13, 2009
Another
wonderful weekend of yoga, good company, delicious food
by our cook Margaret, bushwalking, playing cards, and hanging
out by the fire. Thanks to everyone for helping to make
it such an enjoyable weekend!
We
had perfectly clear and still days and nights this time.
We enjoyed several walks including a walk to Waringa Pool
and Twin Falls.
There
was abundant birdlife with rosellas and lorikeets, currajongs,
and kookaburras, as well as wallabies at the retreat property.
Qi gong was practiced before breakfast and flowed beautifully
for everyone.
The
yoga was the right intensity for everyone to feel they had
a good weekend of exercise and relaxation. A very refreshing
time indeed!
Next
year we will add more time on to the retreat, starting on
the Friday morning instead of the Friday evening as many
people wanted to stay longer!

YOGA IN SPRINGBROOK
In the heart
of Springbrook amongst tranquil, pristine mountain forests
we can experience peace and freedom from tension in the
ideal setting for a Yoga Retreat.
New single accommodation
facilities combined with wholesome vegetarian meals, and
plenty of yoga and free time to explore the surrounding
National Park, provide the perfect way to enjoy ourselves
within Nature.
Springbrook National
Park is a beautiful rainforest environment renown for its
all trees, waterfalls, and creeks, colourful birdlife and
marsupials. The air is so refreshing!
This retreat
is open to all, from beginners to those more experienced
in yoga.
Peter Bisson (IYTA)
has been practising yoga since 1983 and teaching since 1992.
He has also worked
as a health practitioner of Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese
Medicine and Therapeutic Massage.
His approach
to yoga involves gentle stretches to release tension, classical
and innovative yoga postures (asanas) to align the body
and enhance energy flow, breath practices (pranayama) to
further promote the flow of energy into the body, meditation
to centre and calm the mind, and relaxation for settling
the nervous system and for rejuvenation.
It is advisable
to book early as this is a popular workshop and numbers
are limited.
