The last Lord Howe Retreat (February
13-20, 2011) - we had another
wonderful week of yoga, qi gong, bushwalking, swimming,
snorkelling and relaxing! An unprecedented seven of our
group climbed Mt Gower! This was quite a rewarding challenge
but by no means the main focus of the week. There were
so many other wonderful experiences as well. The weather
was terrific, the visibilty for snorkelling was 24 metres,
and we had lovely sea breezes and sometimes rain at night.
The company (Kerri, Mark, Sally, Taeko, Peter, Lesley,
Jillian, Janet, Margaret, George, and Minako) was wonderful.
The food at Beachcomber, Humpty Mick's, and Pandanus was
great too! Lots of wonderful kingfish as usual. We happened
to be there during LHI's Discovery Day on Feb 17 and enjoyed
another tasty fish fry cooked up by islanders Peter and
Jack and co. A great time was had by everyone! It was
so good to have Kerri for her eighth visit, and Mark for
his fourth. It was my eleventh visit and it just gets
better and better. As a World Heritage listed island,
it is truly a unique place for a yoga retreat and for
some time out with like-minded people.
