This is the official site of the Yoga Fellowship Movement and
Satyanada Yoga. Swami Satyananda Saraswati and the Bihar School
of Yoga in India have developed yoga practices designed to harmonize
all levels of human life and experience through practical means.
Sri Swamiji has brough to light ancient yogic teachings from sacred
scriptures and lost traditions and framed them in a modern language
which incorporates both traditional and scientific understandings.
Satyanada Yoga uses asanas (postures) to balance the body and
mind through the physical body, pranayama (breathing practices)
to work on the energy body, and meditation to calm the mind. It
also adopts the attitudes of Jnana Yoga (the path of knowledge),
Bhakti Yoga (the path of heart and emotion), Karma Yoga (the path
of service), and other yogas which enable the practitioner to
frame all aspects of their lives in a way which is conducive to
spiritual growth.

Yoga Synergy was established in Sydney in 1984 with the teaching
being a synthesis of traditional Hatha Yoga and modern medical
science. The directors Simon Borg-Olivier and Bianca Machliss
are registered physiotherapists who have studied yoga intensively
in India. Simon is a certified teacher of Iyengar Yoga and Oki
Yoga, while Bianca is an ACHPER-certified physical instructor.
The Hatha Yoga taught at Yoga Synergy is derived from the work
of Professor T. Krishnamacharya and his three main students. These
three masters are B.K.S. Iyengar (who developed Iyengar Yoga which
is structurally very precise in its approach to the physical hatha
yoga), Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (who developed Ashtanga Yoga which
is a very dynamic form of hatha yoga), and Sri T.K.V. Desikachar
(who teaches a softer gentler style of yoga aimed at suiting the
student's individual needs. The foundation of teaching at Yoga
Synergy is a vinyasa or flow-style meditative practice, linking
postures with the breath while maintaining an awareness of anatomical
and physical alignment, and allowing students to progress with
guidance at their own pace.

The Yoga For Health Foundation is a registered charity promoting
the practice of yoga for all-from the fittest to the most seriously
disabled. It's founder and director is Howard Kent. It's residential
centre at Ickwell Bury in Bedfordshire, England has attracted
thousands of people and become a second home to many. Many of
these come to maintain their fitness, mentally and physically;
others come to lighten the stresses of modern life; many more
to oppose problems presented by such debilitating illnesses as
cancer, MS, Parkinson's, arthritis, asthma, heart troubles, and
so on. The Foundation has taught some hundreds of yoga instructors
and itself runs local activities across the British Isles. Further,
